A new journey begins

Hello everyone, and a big Troll-sized welcome to the Trenches.

Since I joined the Trench Crusade community in the spring of 2024 I’ve been thinking a lot about returning to blogging, but before starting to write I wanted to be sure I had tales to tell and knew enough about what I was going to talk about so that I wouldn’t risk wasting anyone’s time.

During the Kickstarter campaign, I was amazed by the number of people introducing themselves in the Discord server by saying that Trench Crusade is their first ever miniature wargame. I’m quite active in the rules section of the server and I always try to lend a hand to anyone who has questions about the game.

I knew I could do more, so I finally came to know what my goal was going to be: to create a place where new players can find the means to get into the game with ease and where the knowledge that is shared across the community is collected and easily available without the need of laborious searches.

So here we are. It’s a long journey and I don’t know how fast it would be. I have a rough roadmap in mind, but life has the bad habit of screwing with the most well-laid plain in a matter of moments, so pardon me if I make no promise. For sure I want to talk about the rules, explain step-by-step how to play and the describe the models comprising the various factions. The Rules of Engagement and Armies of the Great War sections are already laid out, as well as a general overview of the website.

A first collection of Questions and Answers is already available in the House of Wisdom page. This refers to the version of the playtest rules that is currently available when I’m writing this article – i.e. 1.5+(3). We’ve already got a rough preview the next iteration, and I’m starting to work on updating the Q&A section after 1.6 is out in the upcoming days.

The Contact and Links and Resources pages are up and running as well, while the other sections of the site are currently under construction and will be opened in due time. Meanwhile I hope you’ll enjoy what little content I’ve written so far.
